Janet Remmington is a publisher, researcher, and writer based at the University of York.

Brian Willan is an honorary research fellow at Rhodes University. He edited and introduced Native Life in South Africa (1982), edited Sol Plaatje, selected writings (1996) and is the author of Sol Plaatje, a life of Solomon Tshekisho Plaatje, 1876-1932 (2018).

Bhekizizwe Peterson is Professor of African Literature at the University of the Witwatersrand. His books include Monarchs, Missionaries and African Intellectuals: African theatre and the unmaking of colonial marginality and Zulu Love Letter: A screenplay.
