  A history of the recently renovated Simon's Town building orginally called The Palace, home of the wealthy entrepreneur John Osmond. During the Anglo-Boer War it served as the Palace Hospital and then as Palace Barracks for the South African Navy. In 2004 the architectural firm Gabriël Fagan and Associates were appointed to plan and supervise its reconstruction.

A companion volume to Boet Dommisse's previous publication, "Admiralty House, Simon's Town".
